The majority of work in your portfolio should be that specialty. But if you want to design mobile apps, and only design mobile apps-then specialize, specialize, specialize. If you’re still exploring careers, and you’re not sure what you’d like to do, I say that it’s good to show breadth. You like mobile apps? You want to build mobile apps in the future? Fill your portfolio with mobile apps.
Some educators advise to diversify your portfolio: show a variety of work-be it packaging, print, advertising, and web. Should your portfolio be specialized or general? For design students, this choice is tough. Show that you can solve problems, and you’ll show that you’re worth hiring.
Can you design a solution that makes your users, clients, and stakeholders happy? Can you talk about your process-what solutions you tried, what worked, what didn’t, and why? Can you show heaps of work including prototypes, wireframes, scrapped visuals that shows your rigorous problem solving skills? I purchased Eldar Gezalov’s templates package after first trying a free sample and then decided to go for the Bloc Masters training. I came across BLOCS and then went looking for templates to assist as I’m far from a website designer. I was moving from another platform that we had used for years and it was no longer supported. Not for any other reason than that the products he offers in his templates, and more importantly the support he offers in his training videos and personal assistance, are truly remarkable. I’m not one to usually write testimonials or complaints, but in the case of Eldar Gezalov, I’m making an exception. It is limited to a single use per page as it can be processor intensive. This bric can only be used on a single Bloc per page, ideally suited to the hero section of a site. Easy to use controls let you customize the number of particles, their colors, speed and size. It allows you to add animated particle backgrounds to any Bloc in your site. The last bric I want to share with you today is called Particles. This handy little Bric makes the process of adding one incredibly straight forward. As you know, sites that use cookies are now required by EU law to include a cookie policy notification. Just make sure that both of your images are the same size.Ĭookie Consent bric is a very useful extensions for Blocs, which allows you to show a cookie consent banner. This bric doesn’t really have any advanced options, but it allows you to easily display a before and after image comparison on your Blocs site. When the mouse is placed over this Bric it will track the mouse position and deliver a pretty cool 3D motion effect.
It allows you to add a little motion to your Blocs site. To hide/show a social link simply add or remove a user name in the appropriate field. You can customize the size, spacing, color, alignment and style (classic, rounded, round) of the social media icons. It allows you to easily add social media follow icon links to your page.
